UPDATE 12-28-23

It appears Amazon has backtracked on the star-only feedback option after significant seller pushback including a petition campaign by ASGTG.

Amazon has started allowing buyers to leave star-only seller feedback without being required to leave a comment, but there's a catch that is raising serious concerns for sellers.

Seller Feedback with no words???
Anyone ever see this before? Seller Feedback without words? I didn’t think this was allowed? I’ve seen feedback with a ! or some other symbol and no words but never a blank. These 2 were left by 2 different buyers. Maybe Amazon is now allowing ratings without words now for seller feedback like they do product reviews???

As part of this change, Amazon is notifying sellers that star-only ratings are not eligible for removal and will not even have a "request removal" option displayed.

NOTE: Star-only ratings are not eligible for removal. Therefore, the "Request Removal" feature will not be displayed for a star-rating only review.

Amazon has recently updated their seller feedback system. Now, customers can leave feedback with “ Only Star Rating” without needing to write comments.

Consequently, Amazon has stated that sellers cannot have this star-only feedback removed.

This change can be problematic; for example, if a customer is dissatisfied with a late FBA order and leaves a one-star rating without explanation, sellers no longer have the option to remove this feedback.

This policy could lead to unfair situations and may be exploited by some customers.

Alert!! @amazon Sellers

This is a new message Amazon added for seller feedback. They started letting customers leave seller feedback by selecting stars without writing a note. So now they say you can't get star-only feedback removed. So if a customer is upset that his FBA order is late and he leaves a one-star-only feedback, I can't get it removed anymore. That is unfair, and people will take advantage of it.

Sellers in the Amazon community forum aren't happy with the change either.

NOTE: Star-only ratings are not eligible for removal. Therefore, the ”Request Removal“ feature will not be displayed for a star-rating only review.

Then how we can remove these feedbacks , there gotta be a way . 1 Star Ratings ; should be removed in order for us to know what went wrong. Customer just leaving a 1 star rating without any comment does not determine what the issue was! Does anyone know how we can remove those feedback?

Are you receiving star-only feedback on Amazon? Let us know how this change is impacting your business in the comments below!

I've had this happen a few times, and it confused me. One seller alleged that they had to use Amazon's services to make sure I got my item in time. I recently bought something simple, and the seller made a mistake. They'd sent me 3 different messages, one of them too early, telling me they hoped my item arrived in perfect condition. The next day, the item was marked as shipped, and I got an official Ebay shipping email. The seller was using direct messages to give me item updates. If I wanted Amazon, I'd have used them myself! lol

Happening to me too. On my active listings page (with the full list) it looks fine, but when I click on them, many have the random characters. I reported it, and that's when one glitch led to another! As I was typing the message after clicking the "?", letters were repeatedly not coming up (usually one or two at the end of a word). I was finally able to get the message entered, but how tedious!
