Depop Australia Ramps Up Q4 Sales With Fee Free Offer For New & Dormant Sellers

Etsy-owned fashion marketplace Depop is looking to ramp up Q4 sales in Australia with special no selling fee offers to bring in new sellers and reactivate dormant ones.

For dormant sellers, Depop is offering fee free selling from October 31-November 30, if you meet the criteria.

List and Sell items within promotion period. Items must be sold in AUD during promo dates.

Australia only: Depop’s 10% selling fee will not be applied to any items in any category which are listed and sold by you between 00:01 (AEST) on 31st October 2023 and 23:59 (AEST) on 30th November 2023 inclusive (Offer Period): The following criteria must be satisfied in order for you to qualify:

You must have either:
listed or sold one or more items on Depop between 1 April 2023 and 30 June 2023 (inclusive), but not listed or sold an item on Depop on or after 1 July 2023;

or not listed or sold any items on Depop on or after 1 April 2023, but listed or sold one or more items on Depop between 1 October 2022 and 31 March 2023 (inclusive).

Items must be both listed AND sold during the Offer Period in AUD to qualify for no Depop selling fees.

All items listed before the Offer Period are excluded from the offer, including listings which were originally created before the Offer Period but which are edited during the Offer Period.

For new sellers who register on or after October 31, the fee free selling offer will apply to any sales made until December 31.

Important note - this must be your first Depop account and does not include new accounts for existing sellers.

Criteria: You must have registered for your first Depop account on or after 31st October 2023 - this cannot be a second account of an existing Depop user.

Items must be listed and sold in AUD.

For the avoidance of doubt:

• Second accounts of existing Depop users will not qualify as ‘new users’.
• Items must be both listed and sold during the Offer Period to qualify.

Both promotions refer only to the 10% Depop selling fee, Paypal transaction fees and Depop Boosting fees still apply.

While these promotions are not exclusively being offered to former Poshmark sellers, the timing certainly suggests that like eBay, Depop is looking to make the most out of a competitor's retreat from the Australian market.
