eBay Buyers Can't Place Bids, Empty Bid Box On Listing Page
Some eBay buyers report they are unable to bid on auction as glitch displayed a blank box where the bid should be.
eBay has been tinkering with the user experience again, replacing the old bid functionality with a new pop up display that offers suggested bids or a blank box to type your bid into and it appears this pop up bid box is not functioninging correctly for some buyers.

when I try to bid on an item all I get is a blank bidding screen... it will not allow me to bid on an item.... could anyone tell me what happened or how to fix it please
Bid window pops up, but does not load!
Does anybody else have a problem placing a bid? I click on raise maximum bid and a blank box comes up that I can not enter any bids into? In 20 years using Ebay have never had any problems like this. Thought it might be a glitch that we are all dealing with? Or is it just me? Thank you
I have tried to bid on a couple of auctions, and the page will not load to allow inputting amount. With the APP I can bid, but would rather use computer. I have cleared history and cache also.
Same here, cannot bid on anything. People who have auctions going off right now are not getting the bids they should. Changing browsers does not fix issue. Also a friend of mine reported the same issue. She says bidding on app works for now. Please fix asap.
Some user say trying to use a different browser or clear cookies works to resolve the issue, others say that doesn't help.
One community member says they noticed Java script errors that may be contributing to the issue.
Starting yesterday, pressing the button on an item page to place a bid - which opens a bidding box that rides above the main page - results in a blank box that acts like it never completely loads, making it impossible to bid on anything. I have tried multiple devices and browsers, including devices from which I have never before logged into eBay, and all have the same broken performance.
Many people are reporting this problem in the forum. There are second-hand reports that some people have resolved the issue by changing browsers, but nothing has been posted (that I've seen) mentioning any specific browsers that still work with eBay. If anyone is aware of a browser that still works with eBay, please post the browser with version number and operating system.
What I want to contribute is a technical observation. I don't know if this is related, but when eBay stopped working I checked the Javascript Console for error messages, and found something interesting:
Failed to find a valid digest in the 'integrity' attribute for resource 'https://ir.ebaystatic.com/cr/v/c1/cobrowse_4.17.2/js/GlanceCobrowseLoader_4.17.0M.js?group=20315&sit...' with computed SHA-256 integrity '47DEQpj8HBSa+/TImW+5JCeuQeRkm5NMpJWZG3hSuFU='. The resource has been blocked.
This relates to a property called Subresource Integrity that lets a website authenticate that specific files used as part of the website are genuine. The error message indicates that this authentication is failing for some javascript code that is used by eBay. IF (and I don't know) this code is needed for opening the bidding box, that would account for the problem many people are having.
I hope this reaches someone in eBay technical support who can investigate.
As eBay seller Less Than Three Records points out, this issue can be particularly troubling for sellers since it may cause auctioned items to go for far less than they otherwise would have.
I used to list auctions all the time years ago. These types of glitches are one of the main reasons I stopped. Sellers start the bidding low, and get a bid or two early on, with most interested buyers waiting. Then this happens, and a valuable item goes for pennies.

Considering this problem has been reported for several days, including over the weekend, it's a good bet there may have been a significant impact since Sundays are typically the most popular day to end auctions on.
