UPDATE 2-21-25

While eBay has still not officially acknowledged this incident, affected sellers say they have finally received their February 4th payouts - 2.5 weeks late.

Some eBay sellers in Canada say the company failed to pay out funds due to them on February 4th, leaving them with no money and no answers almost 2 weeks later.

Complaints started bubbling up in the eBay Canada community forum on the 5th.

Weekly Ebay payout didn’t show up yesterday like it should......anyone else?
The weekly Ebay payout didn’t show up in my bank account yesterday. It’s been very reliable for months but yesterday no money was deposited. Anyone else have a payout payment not show up?

The weekly Ebay payout didn't show up in my bank account yesterday. It's been very reliable for months but yesterday no money was deposited. Anyone else have a payout payment not show up?

It's clearly not a sitewide issue as some sellers chimed in to say the had received their payouts while others confirmed they had not - and days later, those who had not received them still had no sign of the payouts in their bank accounts.

There seems to be a growing number of us. I wonder just how many there are that Ebay has not sent a payout to. Maybe they're having cash flow problems and can't cover all the payouts.

No action since Friday....usually when a payment is 'in progress' it takes a few minutes before the money is sent, not several days, so i have to wonder if anything is reallly being done at all.

I am waiting from a 1500$ payout from February 4th as well. Called and talked to someone in payments last week and I was assured I would get my money and that I was a wide spread glitch on the 4th.

I have never had this issue in my 8 years of selling and asked why it happened. The rep suggested that maybe it had to do with it being such a large payout but I have had way bigger payouts and no issues.

Hoping they fix it soon and send it. He couldn't give me a time frame but kept assuring me they were "working" on it.

Those who are affected began comparing notes, hoping to see if there was any commonality in seller location or which bank they use, but unfortunately no clear pattern or trend has emerged and it's not clear what has caused the issue or why some were impacted but not others.

An eBay Community Rep finally responded to one of the threads about this issue on February 11th, asking sellers if there were still experiencing the problem - to which community members replied yes, they still had not received the February 4th payout and it was now showing in their Seller Hub as "in progress" for days.

Re: Anyone else missing a payout from Feb 4?
wrote: can someone from ebay please comment on this? Quite a few of us are missing last weeks payout and we are all getting different responses that are not helpful, meanwhile we still do not have our money Hi ! I wanted to check to see if payouts are still an issue as of this morning?

On February 13th, Devon@eBay returned to the thread to information users he was "currently reaching out to various teams to see if [he] can get some insights and a timeline for the missing payouts" but he has posted no further information or updates since.

Meanwhile, at least one seller says they were told by a customer service supervisor that it might take 30-60 days for the issue to be resolved.

Called and spoke with a Supervisor that shared it could be anywhere between 30-60 days to resolve?

Not sure that is legal? Anyone else looking to take legal action? I also think that we should alert News Media outlets as this could potential be a bigger issue that they are chosing to not communicate to their customers out of fear that this info is leaked to the public?

If 30-60 days is a legitimate response that is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE. 9 days so far & with no actual word from eBay is pretty pathetic to be honest. They should be re-sending the payouts and figure it out on their end. My guess is it was some form of breach/theft & they are at a loss. Probably trying to keep this quiet & resolve internally.

This is precisely why when eBay was going to start handling payments, a lot of us weren't confident they wouldn't be able to do it properly. Missing PayPal, naturally.

The lack of direct, transparent, and open communication about the problem has understandably led to speculation there could be a larger issue in play that eBay is trying to keep quiet.

Re: Missing Payouts - Response from Ebay required
The fact that eBay has not issued any “official announcement” in regards to this matter, nor have they appeared to have contacted directly any or all members who were affected tells me that they have had a “major” issue that they have not managed to “contain”. The fact that eBay has not issued any "official announcement" in regards to this matter, nor have they appeared to have contacted directly any or all members who were affected tells me that they have had a "major" issue that they have not managed to "contain".

So they are going/have gone into "lockdown/ghost" mode, so as not to let the goose out of the bag in the general populace that they had/have an issue, hereby warning/tipping off any guilty parties involved.

Internal Fraud

Hacked Accounts

Coding Error

Stolen Credentials

Could be any or a combination of the above.

But, yes all members who were affected should already have been credited the missing amounts and eBay can go after their screw-ups at their costs and expense.

And some have even suggested pursuing a class action lawsuit if they do not receive their funds soon.

eBay has not responded to request for comment as of time of publishing

Still missing my payment as well and absolutely 0 communication from Ebay on the matter. Meanwhile the number of users on the forum with this issue continues to grow. Where do we go from here to put pressure on Ebay to correct this issue?

I too am missing 8,586.23 US$ from feb 4th non-payout with no communication from ebay other than responding to my call and creating a service ticket.
Now because it is in US $ and I always convert it to Canadian funds using my Wise Account (because they have the best exchange rates) I have lost 7% of my value due to the weakened US$ over the last 2 weeks. that is equal to $858 Canadian at today's rate. Who is going to pay for that. That does not include interest on money i put in to subsidize the non payment. This is not acceptable,

I don't need eBay to "insure" what I sell.
Since I'm really a private seller, meaning I sell very little (I'm not a store that sells privately to avoid taxes), I go to the post office two or three times a week with a few items and ask for Proof of Postage. If Royal Mail loses or breaks an item, I file a claim. So far, Royal Mail has paid every claim I've filed, previously with a bank check and, for some time now, with stamps. When they pay me with stamps, they send me roughly double the value of the loss in stamps. If I sold something for 5 or 6 pounds, they send me eight first-class letter stamps, about £12.80. I use those stamps for second-class large letters (£1.55). I add a note next to the stamp explaining that the stamp covers the value of second-class large letters. And I've never had any problems.
Now everything will be more expensive for the buyer, I'll have to leave eBay.
Can anyone advise me on where to sell online in the UK, and where it'll be effective? Another option is to sell my things as job lots, at very low prices to clear my stock.

With all these changes, I'll have to stop selling on eBay. I sell many inexpensive items, like keychains, which I used to sell for between £2.50 and £3 including shipping. Now I have to add over 80p for the new fees. Since the keychains are flat, I send them as second-class mail for 85p. I'm sure with the "simple" system, they'll charge buyers a first-class "large letter" service of £2.60 (Royal Mail) or maybe £2 in Evri or Yodel.
I'm sure "Simple" will raise shipping costs for buyers, effectively driving private sellers out of the market with noncompetitive prices. Another problem is that I live in a village and there's only a post office. I won't spend a drop of petrol shipping packages miles away because the buyer chooses another shipping company. And if the option is for the buyer to pay even more to have someone pick up what I sold from my house, it will be impossible to sell. And add to that, having to wait for someone who will come to pick up the package whenever they want. Or will I leave it lying outside the door? Because now the custom is for the delivery person to leave everything lying right outside your door. They don't even ring the bell anymore. And if you're lucky, it's your door and not someone's in another town.
