eBay Defaulting To Old Addresses Creates Chaos For Buyers & Sellers

eBay has acknowledged the issue and a sitewide technical ticket is now open.
There is now an official sitewide ticket open for this under ALERT15269. I will have the Tech board updated here shortly and we advise members to reach out to customer support to have their account added as an example for our Tech team to use to find the root cause.
Sellers also report receiving a message from eBay advised this issue may have been occurring since April 7 and they should reach out to any buyers they've had since then to confirm the shipping address was correct.
eBay says they will protect seller performance metrics for cancelled orders, removed resulting negative feedback and refund applicable fees associated with orders impacted by this issue.
They did not however say they would be covering losses for items already delivered to incorrect addresses if there are item not received claims or chargebacks.
Presumably, sellers should be protected under the standard protections if they shipped to the address provided on the order, but we've reached out to eBay to confirm and will update once we have more information.
eBay buyers and sellers are struggling with a glitch that reverts their stored default ship from and ship to addresses to old ones that are no longer valid, creating lost package chaos and business workflow disruption.
Buyers say their shipping addresses keep reverting, causing package to be misdelivered.

I'm having this same problem right now, the kicker is that whenever I log out and log back into eBay it reverts to my home address, I don't even remember putting my home address into eBay. I've tried deleting the address and making my shipping address my primary address, but whenever I log back into eBay it reverses the deletion of my home address and makes it my primary address again.
I haven’t lived there for 4 years and I’ve purchased many items that come to my current address.
i logged in to make a purchase with “text me a code” to buy an item, saw my old address was there, (which is odd because the first purchase after I moved was sent there and I ate the mistake because it was my fault but I (at that time) deleted the address from my account) changed to my new address, changed credit card to current, and proceeded with the checkout.
This morning, I see this $50 bracelet was delivered to my old address yesterday afternoon.
The problem also appears to be impacting users in the UK, so it may be a global issue.
I just realised the last four things I ordered got sent to a previous address because my primary address setting somehow changed without me touching it - I assume I can't get refunded since i didn't check the details before ordering...do I have a leg to stand on?
Some sellers say their ship from addresses are also changing and it may be due to a new field added in the app experience.
Overnight the app is updating and it is changing my shipping address to my home address. I do not operate my business from my home and this only started happening over the past few days...
...this is an app specific issue. My shipping address is correct in all the fields and this was not an issue prior to a few days ago. The app is forcing my registration address (where I live) to be my ship-from address during an overnight update. Then, in the morning, I receive an email stating that I need to update my item location.
I will correct everything back to my business address, and then overnight it will switch it back.
Others are experiencing this as well, specifically businesses that operate from a different location than the owner’s registration address.
Other businesses have suggested that deleting the app prevents this from happening but I like to have the app on the phone so that I can quickly answer customers...
... On the app there is a new ‘ship from’ address form. This is different from ‘shipping address’ and ‘return address’. It is a new field that was created a few days ago. That field auto-populates to my registration address no matter how many times I correct the form.
eBay has not yet acknowledged the issue but we've reached out for comment and will update as soon as we have more information.
