eBay Listings Missing Descriptions Due To Server Errors

eBay listings are once again missing seller-provided description information as users report descriptions are either completely missing or replaced by a server error message.

The intermittent issue appears to be global with errors reported across multiple countries and while the problem it presents for buyers is obvious, it is also interrupting workflows for sellers who depend on information in the description field to identify the item and location for shipping.

When looking at items on ebay desktop, I keep getting "We looked everywhere" error in item description. I tried calling customer service and got no where. They tried looking up one item I was trying to view and said they can see the description just fine, it must me a problem on my end.

I have cleared by cookies, I have tried using a different browser, different user account, I still get the same problem for at least half of the items I try to view. This includes my own listings. Does anyone have a suggestion or is anyone else having the same problem?

Item Description Gone from Sold Item
The item description is missing from an item I just sold. I use the item description box to find my items in my inventory, so I need this information.

One seller offers a workaround to see any important information in the description - apparently the details are still in eBay's system somewhere and will show if you use the Sell Similar function.

I'm having the same problem but it's intermittent. I include a location code in my listings that tells me where I stored it so I can quickly locate it when shipping and I'm guessing you are doing something similar.

Even though the description isn't displaying it's still in the eBay system as part of the listing so simply click Sell a Similar one and it will pull up the template for an identical listing including the description of the original. It's one extra step but will provide the information you need.

To me the bigger concern is that if customers can't see my description their not going to buy or their going to buy something they wouldn't have if they were able to read the description and then blame me later on.

Another seller shared they were able to contact support and received confirmation eBay is aware of a technical issue causing the problem, but there is no timeframe for a fix.

I received a message from eBay customer service this morning:

"We are currently experiencing a site issue that is causing this. Good news is I have added your account to our open IT report, to ensure this is recorded while we are working on getting this fixed. There is currently not an approximate fix date for this, but this issue is expected to be fixed as soon as possible."

If you want eBay to add your account to their open IT report you should email customer service.

They really are pricing themselves into bankruptcy and then sale (privatization) of the carcass whole or in pieces.

I have an issue with Service Metrics too. 24 year Top Rated seller.
I had a customer open THREE separate INAD cases back to back in Feb. She told a bunch of falsehoods in her comments on the case and refused to provide pictures to back up what she was saying, so I called her out on in it with proof that her statements were untrue.

Even though I knew she was trying to scam me, of course, I approved the returns [all 3] and provided a pre-paid shipping label.
She never sent anything back. I got 3 messages from eBay's system saying "We've closed your buyer's return because we have no record that they shipped the item back to you."

However, eBay's system counted all of them against me in my Service Metrics, causing my "Item not as described returns" rate to be: 0.98% even though the buyer was an obvious scammer and didn't return the items.

I didn't have to refund her since she never shipped anything back so there's not a problem there and eBay did remove her feedback, but eBay still counted the cases against me in my 'service metrics' percentage making me look bad in comparison to my peers.

I tried it to post an IG promo and it couldn't get past the selection stage. Photos errored out and required new photos. If i want to take new photos, i can make a better posting in the native IG post generator.
