eBay Live & AI Description Generator Coming To The UK Amid Pre-Loved Fashion Push
eBay is making big announcements for the UK, bringing eBay Live selling and their AI description generator to the market along with fee-free selling for private sellers in clothing categories.
The big fee shake up goes into effect today, with UK based private sellers no longer paying final value fee and regulatory operating fees when they sell items in clothing categories, excluding accessories, hats, footwear, watches, bags and jewellery.

As part of this launch, eBay has also announced eBay Live livestream selling will soon be available in the UK as well, though like in the US, it appears to still be a limited, by application only offering so it remains to be seen how much it will benefit clothing sellers specifically.
eBay Live, a highly interactive livestream shopping experience, will be piloted in the UK with select sellers in the coming weeks. eBay Live allows eBay users to attend live auctions, shop exclusive deals and buy in real time. It has been successful in the US since launching in 2022 with hundreds of live events hosted every week.
Initially in the US, eBay Live focused almost exclusively on trading cards and was only Buy It Now format, but they have since expanded to include sneakers, jewelry, watches, collectible toys, coins, handbags and fashion and now offer an Auction format as well.

Sellers were excited about eBay Live when it was first announced, but have since grown frustrated with the now almost 2 years long "beta" phase and lack of any detailed communication about a timeline for when they might be able to actually use the feature themselves.
eBay has also announced their AI description generator will be rolling out the UK market as well - hopefully it will go smoother than in the US where both the initial rollout in the app and later addition to the desktop listing experience hit a few bumps in the road.
