The head of eBay Europe, Rob Hattrell, is leaving the pureplay giant to join private equity firm and part Asda owner TDR Capital in the autumn.

Retail Week can reveal that Hattrell will be joining the private equity giant as a partner from September and will leave eBay after five years at the business.

An eBay spokesman confirmed Hattrell’s departure, saying: “eBay can confirm that Rob Hattrell will leave eBay next month to pursue a new opportunity. Rob led the UK business for three years until 2020, when he took over responsibility for all European markets.

“Jordon Sweetnam, SVP and General Manager of North America, will assume responsibility for eBay Markets globally, and Murray Lambell will continue to lead eBay in the UK. We wish Rob well for his next chapter and thank him for the significant contribution he has made to eBay.

So, wait, does that mean Jordan will be both North America and Global, or does that mean Jordan will be Global and they will find a replacement for North America? That isn't really clear to me.

I took "will assume responsibility for eBay Markets globally" as just expanding on his role to add European areas currently covered by Hattrell to his current Americas coverage.

Joo Man Park is theoretically still going to oversee international business outside of the U.K., Germany, France, Italy and Spain - I haven't heard or seen anything about him leaving at this time.

I'll definitely update as I get more info though!

I guess I may need to revise this answer - Joo Man Park has now left eBay as well and Jordan Sweetnam's job description has been updated to SVP Global Markets, responsible for the company's North American, European and International businesses.

That certainly sounds like they've taken what were previously 3 separate roles and combined them into one.

I'm not a lawyer and this is a news article, not legal advice - but both of the law firms who are looking into this issue offer ways to contact them to determine if you qualify.

Bonanza promotes itself as "everything but the ordinary". The fact is that unique one of a kind items are slow selling long tail inventory. I'm not going to have a monthly listing fee chisel away at any potential profits. I cut my listings down from 280 to 50. The 50 that are left are ordinary faster moving commodity items. I moved the extra 230 listings to an even lessor known site called webstore. com. There is no listing fee and I've actually sold 2 of the items there since I moved them.
