eBay Messages Down 1-6-25
eBay users report messaging on the platform is down as update pushes bad link into production.

I tried to contact a seller about an item and when the box pops up there is no active area to type. Tried several different ways and no messages are working
Yup, same here. Trying to click on the alarm at upper right to get to messages, or using the pull down list to select Messsages, does not bring up the Messages page, it diverts to an older offline page if you have one in your browser history.

When I click on messages, I get "server not found". No issues with any other pages. I could get to my messages just a couple of hours ago.
As usual, the eBay system status page does not show any outages or disruptions despite a flood of reports across eBay's forums, social media sites, and Down Detector.
Also as usual, longtime eBay forum members have come to the rescue with a regular poster, WastingTime101, correctly diagnosing the problem and providing a workaround to use until eBay gets things fixed.

Top right of the page - My eBay > Messages is sending sellers to the defunct:
https://mesg.ebay.com/mesgweb/ViewMessages/0eBay needs to update the link to the new page:
https://www.ebay.com/cnt/ViewMessageMessages are working when you use the second link. eBay needs to update the old link and put in a page redirect until all old links are updated.
I suggest reporting the problem to eBay using this easy option:
The more people reporting, the quicker they'll fix it.
