Global VP General Manager Business Selling Murray Lambell has left eBay after almost 17 years at the company, moving on to take the Chief Customer Officer role at British meal kit retailer, Gousto.

While Lambell has yet to update his LinkedIn profile, his new employer couldn't wait to get the news out with a post of their own.

Lambell started his career at eBay in 2008, initially working in loyalty, retention and strategy roles before being promoted to VP General Manager overseeing eBay's entire UK marketplace in 2020.

Most recently, he was promoted to Global General Manager Business Selling for Home, Garden & Refurbished categories last year as previous UK Chief Marketing Officer stepped up to take over the UK GM position.

Gousto CEO and founder Timo Boldt said: “I’m incredibly excited to have Murray joining the leadership team. We are deeply customer obsessed at Gousto and Murray’s wealth of experience and dedication to the customer will help take this to the next level, enhancing the overall customer experience.

“His passion for inclusion, care, and collaboration aligns perfectly with our culture, and together, we’ll create even more value for our customers while staying laser focused on our purpose.”

Lambell added: “I love the Gousto product and have followed the impressive growth journey Timo and his team have taken the business on. The culture and passion of all the teams in the business is hugely inspiring and I’m really looking forward to being part of this.

“There’s an enormous opportunity ahead for Gousto and I’m excited to support this next stage of the journey, bringing more delicious Gousto meals to even more dinner tables.”

The departure comes at a time of great change at eBay, with massive consumer to consumer selling push getting rid of private selling fees in the UK across all categories (except Motors) and plans to introduce a "small" buying fee for the UK in 2025.
