UPDATE

The dates for eBay Open 2024 were confirmed at the Summer Seller Check In, with a virtual event planned for September 25-26.

The check in hosts did say there would be some seller-hosted "kick off events" but did not provide any additional information about when and where they will be or to what degree there may be an official corporate eBay presence at those events.

Stay tuned!

eBay is gearing up once again for their annual seller conference and while they have yet to release an official announcement, early signs indicate eBay Open 2024 will be taking place as a virtual conference on September 25-26.

The Seller Center information page for eBay Open has been updated today with a new graphic for 2024 showing the expected dates of the event and that registration will open on August 1st.

It appears this year will only have 2 days of virtual online activities, rather than the 3 day event it has been in previous years.

Power your success at eBay Open, the must-attend annual seller conference. Join thousands of eBay sellers for two days of indepth learnings, through training sessions, keynotes, seller labs, and more.

Two days of virtual sessions focused on helping you succeed on eBay

  • Keynotes - Tune in for insights and updates from top eBay leadership.
  • Seller Labs - Learn from top sellers on ways to optimize your business during the Seller Labs.
  • Training sessions - Hone your eBay skills with training sessions.
  • Category breakouts - Get key insights from experts in the categories you sell inβ€”or want to know more about.
  • Networking - Exchange ideas and get connected with other sellers.
  • Expo Hall - Live chat directly with eBay experts and Sponsors in the Expo Hall.

The Seller Center page also does not yet say if eBay will be hosting smaller in-person eBay Studio events like they have in previous years, but it does mention this being a hybrid event, so some live component may be in the works.

In years past, sellers have been disappointed that the main keynote sessions with CEO Jamie Iannone and other high level executives have been pre-recorded videos instead of live broadcasts with direct question and answer periods with the presenter, so it will be interesting to see if eBay indulges sellers' desire for more live, real time engagement and high level access this year or if the execs continue to distance themselves from the broader seller base.

I expect the official announcement will be made at today's Summer Seller Check In.
