eBay Promoted Listings Ad Rate Display Error When Editing In Listing Flow 8-28-24
eBay sellers are experiencing problems setting Promoted Listings Ad rates through the listing form flow due to text box display error.
The listing page has apparently been updated as evidenced by the new photos dialog box. That works, but the dialog box where you input the desired % for your promotion does not allow you to enter a value with one digit (i.e. you can't enter 9% or lower).
I had to list the item without promotion and then change it after the fact.
Another community member had suggested to try adding a leading 0, making the rate 09% but the original posted said that did not resolve the issue.
In testing via Chrome, I discovered what appears to be a display error - when attempting to type a single digit value, nothing appears in the text box and when attempting to enter two or three digit values, the numbers are shown but are cut off.
Luckily, it does appear this is just a display issue with the value entry box - while it did not show 8% in that box as I was typing, when clicking outside the box, it did update the rate correctly to 8% instead of leaving it at the defaulted suggested rate.
I also tested going above the suggested rate to 22% and again, after clicking outside the box, it was updated correctly.
If that is still not working, you can try the same work around that eBay community member used, which is to launch the listing without opting it in to Promoted Listings through the listing flow and then editing it through seller hub after it is active.
eBay has been experiencing multiple technical issues impacting Promoted Listings ads this week, including a 12+ hour period where the new dashboard was completely inaccessible for many years, leaving them unable to manage campaigns or monitor ad performance during that time.
