Smart Ship Tip: Visit the eBay Shipping Calculator to compare pricing for all shipping services.

Unfortunately, despite the instructions in the announcement, it does not appear the eBay Shipping Calculator has been updated to show UPS Ground Saver rates yet.

However, they are available within the label purchasing process in Seller Hub and it appears that eBay's rates are the same as the publicly shown rates from Pirate Ship and other providers - at least for the size and weight combinations I tested.

As always, sellers will want to price check based on the specific weight, dimensions and ship to location as there may be some variations across shipping label providers.

What do you think of eBay adding UPS Ground Saver? Are you seeing rate the same, better, or worse than other providers? Let us know in the comments below!

Sadly the simple fact is that Ebay want to get rid of Private/Hobby sellers who were once the backbone of their operation. Amazon did something similar a few years ago. I've been an Ebay user/Private seller since 1999 and have dealt with a number of crackpot Ebay changes in the intervening years but this is where my Ebay journey ends.

This won’t work for many of my sales, as I sell on behalf of someone who lives 12 miles away who doesn’t have a computer or smart phone. When one of her items sells I let her know the address and she sends it from her local post office.
I can’t be the only one doing this, eBay have not thought this through. We will have to use a different platform for these sales unless eBay sees sense and provides an opt out.
Additionally I do not like being dictated to in this way. I’ve used eBay for 22 years and it’s worked fine, so why mess it up??
