eBay Video In Listings Now On Desktop
eBay has been slowly rolling out video in listings this year, starting with availability in the mobile app only, then expanding to mobile web browser and now it looks like they have finally rolled it out to desktop browsers as well!

Today I was checking out some of the Certified Refurbished deals eBay has going with Samsung and noticed in both Firefox and Chrome, eBay is now showing the Certified Refurbished video as the second "image"

Clicking the play button pops up the video which starts playing automatically.

As previously noted, eBay has not yet announced extending availability on the seller side - as far as I know, it is still limited only to sellers using the eBay API and select third party partners.

Seller Video is an exciting new offering. The following Third Party Providers enable sellers to upload video within their listings:
- ChannelAdvisor
- Codisto
Product images and text descriptions are still the primary sources of information about listing items. However, video helps buyers see more detail.
Interestingly, most of the examples of video in listing I've found so far are items in either the Certified Refurbished or Authenticity Guaranteed programs and the videos are short informational clips about each of the those programs made and automatically inserted by eBay.
I've yet to find a video of an actual product being sold that appears to be made by the seller, which might suggest that eBay has not gained wide adoption even among the very limited scope of sellers who currently have access to this feature.
Have you seen video in listing on desktop or mobile? What do you think of the new feature? Let me know in the comments!
As many of the items I sell are £10 or less, this makes it not worth the bother and I'll probably have to give it away to the charity shop.
Add that to the "buyer protection" fee they've added on - and the costs are making it untenable for people trying to clear the house, or make a few bob from old bits and pieces. Not happy at all and there doesn't seem to be a way of opting out.
The sooner these sleazebags at the top can be got rid of, or some community-run buy/sell/swap sites come up - the better. We don't need ebay.
