eBayUK Adds Royal Mail International Purchase Option
eBay sellers in the UK will now be able to purchase Royal Mail international shipping through the platform.
Royal Mail international services including Royal Mail International Tracked & Signed, Royal Mail International Signed and Royal Mail International Standard are now available on eBay.co.uk. This supports eBay sellers in opening up the global market for their products to potential new customers.
With the launch of the Royal Mail international services on the eBay platform, non-Royal Mail account business sellers and consumer sellers now have the same easy access to IOSS as business customers to the EU and global markets – the eBay IOSS number is automatically applied to any shipment sent with these services.
Parcel Collect
eBay sellers will also be able to use over 14,000 access points to drop off the parcel including parcel postboxes, Post Office and Royal Mail Customer Service Points, as well as the 60p Parcel Collect service
While I'm sure this is good news for sellers in the UK, if eBay really wants to win some points I suggest they figure out how to make pending and available Managed Payments funds available to purchase shipping labels on the platform - a feature US sellers have had for almost 2 years, but has yet to make its way to the UK.
That feature would have come in very handy during the recent 2 day payments outage in the UK where sellers were stuck funding days worth of shipping costs out of pocket or risk late shipment strikes on their accounts because they had not received payouts and could not use pending funds to purchase postage.
