Etsy’s headed to the big game on February 11! (You can read all about our plans here). To help you make the most of this BIG moment, we’re waiving the transaction fees on any eligible sales you make from your Share & Save links until February 15 at 8am ET. Read on to get all the exciting details!

How it works
To take advantage of this special limited-time offer, you need to be part of Share & Save. When you share a trackable link to your shop or listings and make a sale, you’ll save on your Etsy fees. Usually with Share & Save you get back 4% of the order total when shoppers make a purchase after clicking on your link. But during this special offer you’ll save the full 6.5%—the entire transaction fee—for any eligible orders you receive from your links from February 1 to February 15 at 8am ET!

All this excitement = even more eyes on Etsy. Now is a great time to amp up your marketing efforts to make the most of all those gift-seeking shoppers. And when you promote your shop using your Share & Save links and make an eligible sale during the promo period, you’ll pay ZERO transaction fees!

You can help buyers discover the great gifts in your inventory by making an easy-to-browse shop section.

To make things simple, we’ve created a handful of custom Instagram templates for the occasion that you can share with your followers. Check them out on the @EtsySuccess Instagram page!

Ready to share? Here are a few ideas to get you started:

  • Share your most giftable listings or your “Gifts” section
  • Share your most popular listings
  • Share a recent glowing 5 star review

Multiple Etsy-funded discount events were launched in Q3 and Q4 last year as well to promote Share & Save and help kick off the holiday season, so we may also see a similar Etsy-funded promotion for buyers related to the big game too.

It's interesting to see Etsy undertaking these big advertising costs and fee discounts at a time when the company is under increased cost cutting pressure.

Etsy laid off 11% of its workforce in December, including Chief Marketing Officer Ryan Scott.

And today activist investor Elliott Managment (famous for pushing for cutting costs and increasing operational efficiencies) took a 13% stake in the company and a seat on the board.

Etsy is getting a new board member this month as Elliott Management partner, Marc Steinberg, is set to join on February 5, 2024.

CEO Josh Silverman has bet a lot on the big game - let's hope it pays off!
