Welcome to the Value Added Resource ecommerce news week in review!
eBay News
Trading card collectors were left scratching their heads this week when an apparent eBay glitch caused onsite search to show random and extremely irrelevant results - just in time for the largest sports card show in the country.
eBay is rolling out updates to the Seller Hub Active Listings page with consolidated search and filter functionalities to simplify the user experience, but sellers say it's missing key functionality from the old design.
eBay also appears to be testing or rolling out more changes to the Feedback page design, this time removing critical information like feedback left for others and whether feedback was received as a buyer or seller, leaving users more vulnerable to bad actors on the platform.
Competition is heating up in sports trading cards as mega-seller Burbank Sportscards defects from eBay to Fanatics and Walmart looks to lure new collectibles sellers to the marketplace.
Sellers are now starting to be invoiced for the SPLASH15 Summer Sale promotion and predictably, there is no way to track which orders came from the coupon or audit the charges in any way - it is simply a lump sum invoiced to the seller.
eBay's KnownOrigin NFT marketplaces continues to wind down operations with additional updates on X/Twitter indicating it will be a phased processed with reduced functionality on the site as they direct users to secondary marketplaces where possible.
