UPDATE 6-25-24

An Etsy community manager says the old listing form retirement will be going through today as originally planned, despite what sellers report being told by support and the long list of still ongoing technical issues with the new form.

Sellers have been frantically preparing for Etsy to retire the old listing form and force them into the new listing experience on June 25th despite ongoing technical issue reports - is Etsy really going to go forward with the switch over tomorrow or will they delay these changes until the bugs are finally worked out?

In the most recent update posted to the Etsy community about the listing form change, a community manager acknowledged a few of the many issues sellers have reported with the new form, saying problems with bulk editing and renewing sold out listings are in the process of being fixed.

Re: Updated 5/23: The old listing form retires June 25
A few weeks ago, we shared a few features that would be incorporated into the new listing experience before the official release day on June 25. Today, we’re happy to share that the following features are now available: Adding manual translations to your listings Sharing your listings on your Patt…
Our team recently identified an issue impacting the ability to bulk edit listings for some members, which has since been resolved.

Upon investigation, our team uncovered that one of our latest updates to the listings manager had unintentionally caused this issue. This functionality is back to normal, and you should now be able to resume bulk editing your listings. We also identified an issue with renewing sold-out listings and are working on fixing this within the next week.

We apologize for any confusion or disruption this may have caused, and we appreciate your patience as we make improvements and necessary updates to the listing experience. Thank you, everyone, for bringing this to our attention.

However, sellers have begun to panic now that time is ticking down and many issues still remain - including a longstanding problem with pricing for which switch back to the old form is still the only known workaround - leaving users wondering if the deadline to switch over might be extended.

Etsy Sellers Worry About Pricing Problems In New Listing Form As Old Listing Form Set To Retire
Etsy sellers face pricing problems in new listing form as old form that is currently the only work around for this glitch is set to retire.

According to one seller posting in the Etsy community, support reps are now saying a delay is very likely since "the engineers (Product Support/Technical Support) have not updated anyone in Etsy Support about this."

UPDATE: ETSY OLD FORM NOT NECESSARILY GOING AWAY ON THE 25TH according to Etsy Support today.
This is a current update to previous posts about the ongoing issues with listing new shop inventory and the alarming drop in shop stats delivered through Etsy over the past two-plus weeks. The original post about these problems is now buried in the volume of posts, making it hard to find. Therefore…

The news: I contacted Etsy Support today. I have been able to list for the past few days without problem but now my Visits and Views stats are dramatically, significantly, down. This happened once before to my shop when Etsy was first working on the New Form about a year ago. Then, it all went back to normal eventually, but not after weeks of loss when my shop was not being picked up by Etsy's search engine.

The support representative I spoke with was based in the Philippines and had some difficulty with English. It was evident that she was not well-versed in computer issues, as she primarily read from a script provided by Etsy. This communication further highlighted the need for more comprehensive support in addressing these issues.

The bottom line is that when I brought up my previous complaints about not being able to list new inventory without a "Hmmm..." error message, she told me to use The Old Form. I reminded her that The Old Form was permanently being removed tomorrow, as stated prominently by Etsy's banners!

The bottom line: You all will likely not be surprised by this, but Etsy is (kinda sorta officially stating, she said) that The Old Form will LIKELY NOT go away tomorrow and they don't know when or if this will happen anytime soon because the engineers (Product Support/Technical Support) have not updated anyone in Etsy Support about this.

There has so far been no official announcement about a delay, so sellers would be wise to prepare as if the switch to the new form will still be happening tomorrow, but given the amount of bugs there are apparently still being worked on it definitely does not sound like the new form is ready for primetime.

What problems are you still seeing in the new listing form and do you think Etsy should delay retiring the old form? Let us know in the comments below!
